The
Citywealth Powerwomen Awards 2017 took place last night at the five-star
Rosewood Hotel, in the City of London. Now in its fourth year, the event
celebrates individuals and companies that support female leadership and
diversity within the wealth management sector.
The
gala kicked off with a champagne reception and then the guests were ushered in by the toastmaster. With Burns Night having taken place just a couple of weeks ago, a kilted bagpiper carried on with the theme and led Karen Jones, CEO of Citywealth, into the dining room where a
fine three course dinner was served to the 180 guests. The trophies were handed out by TV presenter Mark Durden-Smith,
son of famous TV personality Judith Chalmers, who was hosting the event.
A total of seventeen Gold, Silver and Bronze
Awards were announced with two further awards, The Editor’s Choice Award and the Career Achievement Award handed out first. The former went to Stella Mitchell-Voisin from Summit Trust International, and the latter to Gillian Bishop from Family Law in Partnership. All the winners had been selected from a
shortlist of over one hundred candidates drawn up by seven judges, all
prominent figures from the wealth industry. Additional online voting was
verified by an independent third party.
It was a joyous occasion and celebrations continued with a drinks party at the hotel bar hosted by Citywealth. Those with a robust constitution and fearless of an early morning rise the next day, went on to celebrate at Trumps night club.
Congratulations to all the winners!
