Two Citywealth Awards in so many days

The last week has been a very busy time here at Citywealth.
On Wednesday 21st January it was the fourth IFC Awards, hosted by the very witty Frances Edmonds, bestselling author and wife of former English cricketer Phil Edmonds and where twenty-six awards were handed out to the winners and runners up. A kilted bagpiper gave the evening a special Scottish flavour in celebration of Burns Night and a very jolly and joyous time was had by all.

The following evening, Thursday 22nd January, was the time for the first Power Women Awards, hosted by Dame Esther Rantzen DBE who received a standing ovation. She gave out thirteen Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards to women and companies that excel at promoting female leadership, entrepreneurship and mentorship in the wealth management sector. As Burns Night was still a couple of days away, a bagpiper was again present to celebrate the event, and together with the hosts downed a glass of whiskey to the 'lassies' according to Scottish tradition.

The Power Women Awards were the highlight of a two-day Power Women Summit on 21st and 22nd January,  an educational initiative on gender and diversity. Speakers and panellists included Dr Alexandra Beauregard, assistant professor of Employment Relations and Organisational Behaviour at LSE, Dr Maria Koumenta, lecturer in Labour Studies and Human Resource Management at Queen Mary, University of London, and feminist Dr Patrizia Kokot, lecturer in Organisational Behaviour at University of Reading.
Citywealth will provide a report on the event and its findings.

The series of Power Women events ended with the Power Women Lunch on Monday 26th January, hosted by Olympic Gold medalist, swimmer Sharron Davies MBE. She entertained and inspired the guests with her stories about her childhood, her training as a swimmer and her experience at the Olympics, from Montreal to London. Sharron had brought along her  gold Olympic medal to show to the assembled guests, who were delighted to be offered the opportunity to pose for photos with the sporting legend.
