Citywealth Power Women Awards Get Official Nod from UK Government

The Citywealth Power Women Awards, taking place on 22nd January 2015 in the City of London, will be opened with a speech by Baroness Margaret Prosser OBE, vice chair of the Industry and Parliament Trust. The IPT was formed 37 years ago as an independent body and later as a registered charity, to build understanding between parliament and business.

Baroness Prosser's focus of interest throughout her political career has been equalities and equal pay and she has been a member of the Equal Opportunities Commission. She entered the House of Lords in 2004.

A great champion of women's advancement in the work place, Baroness Prosser first gave her official endorsement to the Citywealth Power Women initiative when she wrote the foreword to the Citywealth report on gender diversity and leadership in the wealth sector, published earlier this year. " I hope this report is widely read and the findings followed up across the sector. Failure by companies and managers to make the best use of all employees ends up as a cost to the bottom line. And that is in no one's interest" she concluded.

The Citywealth Power Women Awards recognise both individuals and companies who maximise the potential of women in the wealth sector.
