Professor Linda Scott from Said Business School, Oxford, will be our next motivational speaker. She's DP World Chair for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and founder of Power Shift, the Oxford Forum for Women in the World Economy. She curates the annual symposium which this year will focus on Women and Finance.
Professor Scott is also author of the controversial book Fresh Lipstick: Redressing Fashion & Feminism, that argues that wearing high heels and make-up doesn't deny you the right to seek advancement, empowerment and equality.
The talk will also touch on the concept of Beauty Bias, as explored in the book of the same name by Deborah Rhode and that discusses our cultural preoccupation with attractiveness and how that matters in the work palce.
All in all, it promises to be a hot debate!
