Power China Lunch - 20th April. Booking is Now Open

Citywealth will host its first Power China Lunch, a high powered event where guests will have the chance to listen to speakers who are prominent professors from The School of Oriental & African Studies and specialists in Chinese business and cultural relations. We will look at the effects of the one child policy and the rise in prominence of the UHNW women in China amongst other important topics.

As the Chinese overtook the Russians for investment visas into the UK last year, doing business with the Chinese and lifting the veil on some misconceptions Westerners have on the subject, is of increasing importance. We will examine the concept of "guanxi", a wide network of mutually beneficial connections which is not only a crucial part of business life, but also part of the social fabric of China.

We are delighted to have secured international best selling author Jung Chang, as our main speaker.
The Asian Wall Street Journal called her book Wild Swans the most widely read book about China, while Hillary Clinton acknowledged it as "An inspiring tale of women who survived every kind of hardship, deprivation and political upheaval with their humanity intact"

Together with her latest book, Empress Dowager Cixi: The Concubine Who Launched Modern China, published in 2013, Jung Chang's literary works have been translated into more than 40 languages and sold more than 15 m copies.

However Wild Swan and her other bestselling book Mao: The Unknown Story are still both banned in mainland China.

All in all, the Power China Lunch promises to be a fascinating event that is not to be missed !
